Our Virtual Vino / Prince Wine Store wine night is back for our last event of 2021 and we are going out with a bang!
Join us on Thursday November 18th from 7.30pm, with our regular host Michael McNamara from the esteemed Prince Wine Store and our special guest for the night, winemaking legend, Stephen Pannell live from the Adelaide Hills.
Stephen Pannell needs little introduction. The current Gourmet Traveller WINE Winemaker of the Year is a much admired and hugely respected figure within the Australian wine community. With two coveted Jimmy Watson trophies to his name (the first coming during Pannell’s decade as Senior Red Winemaker with BRL Hardy) and a wealth of international winemaking experience, Steve produces a formidable line-up of wines from his McLaren Vale base.
Stephen is a champion of wines from the Hills / McLaren Vale region and his passion will help you to embrace a new understanding that Australia is more suited to Portuguese and southern French varieties. The Protero range is about his Adelaide Hills vineyards and feeds into his pioneering work with Nebbiolo, Barbera and aromatic whites. If you happen to find yourself in Adelaide in 2022, you’d be mad not to make the short journey south and pay Stephen a visit. The premium wines featured below will be tasted & discussed on the night:
  • 2021 Protero Aromatico (Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc blend)
  • 2018 S.C. Pannell Tempranillo Touriga
  • 2019 S.C. Pannell Smart Grenache
